Practitioners from small companies overwhelmingly reported well-defined mission statement. It is important for practitioners in small companies to clearly outline what they do and do not do so they do not become all-purpose resources.

Here are some examples of comments that fell into this category:

Mission - To evaluate interactive systems and products to enhance their usability and utility Responsibilities - User profiles, task analysis, heuristic evaluation, user testing, redesign recommendations and storyboarding
We take the requirements document and create designs, which we test against sample user groups. We remain a part of the developemtn team through the developement lifecycle and update designs and dcumentation, retesting as needed. We each wear all hats for our specific products.
